Len is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama, earning a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He started working as a tax preparer in 2004, working with his father, Leonard G. Nelms, CPA. With the strong support of his father, he went back to school (Kennesaw State University) to change careers and follow in his father’s footsteps as a CPA, earning his license in early 2014. Soon after, he started working with clients having issues with the IRS and State Department of Revenue, finding this work very challenging and rewarding. His professional goal is to provide each taxpayer client with a trusted advocate when dealing with potentially intimidating circumstances.
Len has been married to Tammi since 1985; they have two children, Christian and Chloe. He has been active in coaching all their sports teams over the years, including football, baseball, basketball and fastpitch softball. He and his family are long time members of First Baptist Woodstock, where he has served as an Adult Sunday School teacher, deacon, and care group leader. His goal is to live as an ambassador of Jesus Christ in all his personal and professional relationships. (Psalm 19:7-11)
